Artemide Tizio Micro Table Lamp
Design by Richard Sapper, 1972.
By Tizio.
Micro is the latest addition to the Tizio series - the baby of the Tizio family. It is about 35% smaller in scale than the original Tizio Classic, the perfect scale for smaller tables/desks in home office applications and for small bedside tables for night reading applications.
The Tizio is a design classic, with the first version released in 1972. It provides orientable halogen task lighting, and its elegant counterweight and arm system keep the head constantly parallel to the table. The fully-adjustable and balanced electrical conductor arms are made of anti-corrosion treated aluminum, and the arm spacer bars are made of chromed steel with red, molded, thermoplastic insulators. Both counterweights are made of zinc alloy. The Tizio can rotate 360 degrees around its base, which incorporates a low voltage transformer and hi-low on/off switch.
