Albula Table

albula table
Design Antonio Citterio, 2010
Solid wood, MDF, linoleum
Made in Germany by Vitra

The Albula Table is a large occasional table that can be combined with many different sofas. Its formal appearance is as unobtrusive as it is unconventional, while its homey feel is reminiscent of mid-century design. The Albula table is offered with a natural oak legs & edge with pebble linoleum top or walnut legs & edge with peat linoleum top.

The main features that characterize the table are the complex form of the tabletop covered on both sides with linoleum and the elliptic, solid wooden legs that are turned in their position against each other. The shape of the tabletop was not purely conceived from formal considerations. Tapering off to the narrower sides, the table also allows for easy access to the sofa and is still always within reach.

Antonio Citterio, architect and designer, lives and works in Milan. He has collaborated with Vitra since 1985. A series of office chairs and office systems have originated over this period. The Citterio Collection for Vitra is continually growing.
