Immediately recognized for its architectural qualities, the Swing VIP conquered the front pages of architectural magazines around the world when it was first introduced and was bought by The Danish Arts Foundation. The Swing VIP is still considered to be an icon.
B05 Swing VIP features a multi-adjustable shade hand made in aluminum and carefully wet painted. The base is wet painted solid steel and the arm is brushed stainless steel. It is offered in black or white with matching cord.
Jorgen Gammelgaard belonged to a generation of skilful furniture designers who all learned their craft in the time-honored Danish apprenticeship tradition. He was the first designer to receive the annual awards from both the Danish Design Council and The Council for Arts and Crafts. In 1987 he was appointed Professor of furniture design at the Danish Royal Academy.
