Tacheny’s furniture designs tell stories about her life. Raised among a family filled with artists, Tacheny developed a great appreciation for high quality craftsmanship and interior design. While apprenticing as a woodworker in Chicago, Alice Tacheny fell in love with the smell of fresh-cut walnut and classic joinery. In late 2009, she started Alice Tacheny Design. As part of the kick off for her first collection of furniture, she showed at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in May 2012. It is evident from her line of furniture that Tacheny is passionate about modern design and furniture that is intended to last.
